Galway Cultural Institute (GCI) is one of Ireland’s premier language schools, based in one of the most exciting and interesting coastal cities in the world. It is located in a contemporary building in a stunning location overlooking the Atlantic Ocean and Galway Bay.

Level: Upper-Intermediate

• 12 weeks of 20 x 45 minute classes including exam week.
• 6 weeks of 30 x 45 minute classes including exam week.
• 4 weeks of 36 x 45 minute classes including exam week.

Cambridge Advanced English (CAE)

Level: Advanced

Choose from:

• 12 weeks of 20 x 45 minute classes including exam week.
• 6 weeks of 30 x 45 minute classes including exam week.
• 4 weeks of 36 x 45 minute classes including exam week.

English + Communication & Customer Service

Lessons: 30 x 45 mins / week
Level: Upper-Intermediate+
Max students: 14 (12 during low season)
Age: 23+
Timetable: 9.00 – 12.30 + 13:30 – 15:00, Mon – Fri

The course runs over 12 weeks with 20 general English lessons in the mornings per week and 10 Business lessons per week focused on Communications and Customer Service in the afternoons with 3 lessons of self-study for assignment completion and project work each week. Students can join for a minimum of 2 weeks or a maximum of 12 weeks.

English + Marketing, Advertising & Sales

Lessons: 30 x 45 mins week
Level: Upper-Intermediate+
Max students: 14 (12 during low season)
Age: 23+
Timetable: 9.00 – 12.30 + 13:30 – 15:00, Mon – Fri

The course runs over 12 weeks with General English lessons in the mornings and 10 Business lessons focused on Marketing, Advertising and Sales in the afternoons. There are 3 lessons of self-study for assignment completion and project work each week. Students can join for a minimum of 2 weeks or a maximum of 12 weeks.

Sometimes teachers need to be students too. If you are a non-native teacher of English who wants access to the newest, most innovative teaching materials while improving your own language abilities, this course is for you.

Social Programme

GCI’s varied social programme takes advantage of all that is happening in the city and surroundings. The school has close links with the business and artistic communities, offering opportunities for volunteer experiences, particularly for long-stay students. This means that, during your stay, you can enjoy world-renowned events such as the Galway Arts Festival, the Oyster Festival, and the Galway Horse Races. As a GCI student, you can be more than just an observer – you can actively take part in many of these festivals. GCI has volunteer arrangements with a number of local festivals and they encourage their students to get involved and have fun.
